Why mock exams matter
Reading and note-taking build familiarity. Timed practice checks whether you can retrieve and apply the material under the same time constraints used in the assessment. An early mock can expose gaps while there is still time to work on them; later mocks help you check whether those gaps have closed.

MRT2 mock (Module 2, Unit 2)

- 6 linked case studies (10 questions each) · 60 marks total · 120 minutes · 70% to pass (42/60)
- No standalone questions — the assessment is entirely scenario-based and draws together knowledge from the qualification, with additional protection and adviser-skills content
How to get the most from mock exams
- Sit in one go — avoid pausing or looking things up mid-exam if you are trying to simulate exam conditions.
- Review every wrong answer — and any answer you guessed correctly without understanding why.
- Look for patterns — repeated misses in one topic are a useful signal for what to revisit.
- Use different variants — repeating the same paper can turn recall into question recognition.
What score do you need to pass?
The published pass mark for every CeMAP unit is 70% — 28/40 for FRE1, FRE2 and MRT2, 35/50 for MRT1, and 42/60 for ASEW/ASSC. For revision, aiming above the minimum gives you a sensible buffer for normal variation between practice and exam day; cemap·coach uses your topic and mock history as a study guide, not as a guarantee of the real exam result. How many mock exams are available?
Multiple mock variants exist per unit so repeat sittings can draw different questions rather than simply repeating the same paper.
Should I do a mock exam before or after revising?
Both can help: use an early mock to find gaps, then later timed mocks to check whether your recall and timing have improved.
