The current published percentages are fixed at 70% pass, 80% merit and 90% distinction for the units; they are not described as changing by sitting. The overall qualification is graded Pass/Fail only, even though unit results can be at merit or distinction level.
What should a practice score mean?
70% is the real assessment threshold. A revision provider can recommend aiming above that to leave a buffer, but there is no official rule that a particular practice percentage proves you are ready. Different practice banks vary in difficulty and repeating the same paper can inflate a score through recognition.
Use several fresh papers, review topic-level mistakes and treat practice results as revision evidence — not a guaranteed probability of passing.
If you are unsuccessful
Walbrook currently lists the resit fee as £120 per unit. The April 2026 specification restricts unsuccessful candidates to three exam attempts in a week and ten attempts overall in any 12-month period. Full-qualification registration lasts 18 months; separately registered modules last 12 months.
