Is CeMAP hard? An honest answer for 2026
Short answer: CeMAP is moderately hard — closer to a driving theory test than a university degree. The pass mark is around 70%, most people need 35–60 focused hours per unit, and the usual cause of failure isn’t intelligence — it’s exam technique, not raw knowledge.
If you’re reasonably numerate and consistent for a few weeks, it’s very achievable. If you go in having only skimmed the textbook, it isn’t. Here’s exactly what makes it hard, and what closes the gap.

Making it easier
Three things move the needle more than anything else: know where your gaps actually are before you study (not after), drill the topic that’s weakest rather than rereading everything evenly, and sit timed mocks so exam-day pressure isn’t a surprise. That’s the entire method behind CeMAP Coach — score, plan, pass, in that order.
